The unit applies to individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their work, including limited responsibility for the work of others, and who participate in the development of a food safety program typically limited to their immediate work area.

FBPAUD4004Identify, Evaluate, and Control Food Safety Hazards: covers the skills and knowledge required to identify, evaluate, and control food safety hazards for the purposes of validating specific control measures in a food safety program.




These HACCP courses fulfill the formal training requirements of major standards such as Woolworths Supplier Excellence, BRC, SQF, Coles Supplier Requirements (Food), FSSC 22000, and more.

At the end of this course delegates will

  • Understand how to handle food safely.
  • Understand due diligence & legal requirements as they relate to food safety laws.
  • Identify food safety hazards in a food business: biological, allergenic, intrinsic and extrinsic chemical & physical food safety hazards that present a risk in food.
  • Assess the food safety risk level.
  • Develop prerequisite programs to eliminate or reduce food safety hazards to acceptable levels.
  • Control food safety hazards in a food business.
  • Identify critical control points and limits to control food safety hazards.
  • Establish and validate control measures and critical limits, monitoring and recording requirements to eliminate or reduce food safety hazards to acceptable levels.
  • Establish methods to monitor and control food safety hazards.
  • Establish methods corrective actions.
  • Develop and document the 12 steps of the HACCP Plan.
  • Review and verify a food safety program


Delivery Method:
This course is delivered face-to-face in Brisbane or via Virtual Classroom at exactly the same time as the face-to-face training so all participants will actively take part in group discussions and exercises. This training does not require any downloads.

Virtual Training is delivered through the ICS Learning Management System on line or via Zoom. All virtual participants view the same material and are expected to actively participate throughout the duration of the course.

Updated to meet the latest HACCP Codex 2023 standards, this course features refreshed content and design. Remember: all GFSI and retailers mandate completion of a 16-hour HACCP Principles and Application course.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) to attain the nationally recognised units of competency.

 HACCP Refresher Training

This course usually must be completed every three years and is intended to refresh participants' understanding of the food safety environment in which we operate, the Codex Principles of HACCP, and the development and review of a documented HACCP Plan. This course meets Coles and Woolworths training requirements. This course is the ideal refresher for food industry professionals working in Manufacturing, with fresh produce, Research & Development, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Business Owners or Management who need to obtain a practical understanding of the HACCP methodology and how to use it within their business. It is not suitable for participants who have not completed formal HACCP training.

Quality management for HACCP Team

The HACCP Training course will help you qualify to be part of the HACCP Team or become a HACCP Team Leader. HACCP Training conducted by an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) is a mandatory requirement of a number of certification standards.

HACCP Online Options

ICS offers two different ways for people working in the food industry to refresh their HACCP training. The different ways are:
  • 1 day Virtual or in-house Refresher training (Accredited)
  • Self-paced HACCP online course (Non-Accredited)

It has been developed on the relevant national competencies and is designed by a Certificate IV qualified trainer

Upon successful completion of the in-course assessment, you will receive an RTO Certificate of Attainment.
